Oil City wins state Senior LL title
Oil City defeated West Norriton, 7-1, July 30, 2003, to win the state Senior League (15- and 16-year-olds) baseball title and qualify for the Eastern Regional.
The five-team double elimination state tournament was held in Emporium. Oil City won the winners' bracket final, but lost to West Norriton, 6-5,  in the first game of the finals July 29.

This is the first state title for the Oil City junior baseball program, although in 1967 the 13- and 14-year-old all-stars came to within one game of qualifying for the Pony League World Series, but didn't win a state title per se since the playoff format didn't include a state tournament.

Members of the team were Colt Hart, Justin Gibson, Geoff Flowers, Bryan Sutch, Nick Stallone, Jim Finnecy, Brian Hahn, Joe McIntyre, Skyler Gibson, Tanner Hall, Chris Domer and Aaron Sutch. Tim McIntyre was the manager, and Tom Flowers and Guy Stallone were coaches.

Oil City finished 1-2 in the Eastern Regional, beating Barrington, R.I., on Hart's walk-off homer, then losing to Cambridge, Md., 5-3, and host West Deptford, N.J., 6-3.
