But losses to Slippery Rock and Warren cost the Oilers a playoff spot...The Oilers were blanked until the fourth quarter against the Rock when Reinsel threw a 66-yard TD pass to Gary Glass and a 31-yard scoring pass to Chris Fox...

Sophomore QB Nick Heasley started against Meadville...Heasley, who wasn't even listed as a QB on the roster, rushed for 70 yards and completed seven of nine passes for another 99...

Tackle Jim Svolos' blocked extra point preserved the Oilers' 14-13 win over Central...Then the Oilers visited Warren and but couldn't hold onto a two-touchdown lead in a deriving rainstorm...The Dragons, who scored the last three TDs of the game, sent the game into OT with a TD with 49 seconds left in regulation...Jones rushed for 245 yards against Warren, which is third on Oil City's all-time list...

Jones added another 217 yards in the season-ending victory over East in which the Oilers posted their first shutout since 2004...The Oilers made five interceptions, two by Reinsel and the others by Kyle Guth, Glass and Pat Schumacher...Gith returned his INT 41 yards for a score...

Strong Vincent rolled up 504 yards rushing and 597 yards total offense in the opener...It was the Oilers' worst loss since 1928 when Sharon swamped them 108-0...Vincent scored four touchdowns in the last 12:21 of the game...

The Oilers would lose their first four games before beating Franklin...Harbor Creek took advantage of five tunrovers and posted an easy victory...Eventual Region 5 champion Titusville didn't have it so easy...The Oilers and Rockets were tied at 14 at halftime before Titusville pulled away...For the third straight game Reinsel sat out the second half with a leg cramp problem...All four of Oil City's second-half possessions ended with interceptions...

Eventual Class AAA state champion General McLane took a 35-7 halftime lead and never looked back...The Oilers' only TDs came on a 19-yard pass from Reinsel to Glass and a 56-yard fumble return by Ryan Ochalek...
