Notes and Stats

A fairly uneventful season...Donald Rossey scored two touchdowns and a PAT and the Oilers racked up 396 yards and 22 first downs in their win over Girard that ended a season-long seven-game losing streak...Then Johnny Klescz scored from inside the 2 and Dick Lauer added the PAT in the season-ending win over Franklin...That game was played on Armistice Day, a Monday afternoon...

Lauer, an erstwhile basketball player, came out for the team in mid-season and made his debut against Titusville..."Little" Moose Morse (real name Donald) got the headlines and rave reviews for his play against Meadville...Morse camped out in the Bulldog backfield and made several tackles for losses...Blocked punts set up both Meadville TDs...Leo Krosnicki was named honorary captain after the season ended...The Oilers intercepted five passes in the loss to Grove City...

Post-season "soda fountain" gossip had coach Hud Wells getting some assistants and opening up his offense and adding some razzle-dazzle in 1936 and the Oilers getting lights to play night games ...
