Notes and Stats

The Oilers started out like gang-busters, registering two shutouts in their first two games, but things went downhill after that, thanks mostly to injuries. That was capped when they lost All-Conference linebacker Mike Donaldson to injury in the Hickory game.  Donaldson made 20 tackles -- 14 solo, including two sacks -- against Titusville...

The Oilers were shut out in their last four games and five of their last six. Officials called the Franklin game with 2:24 to play after fights broke out among the players...The win was Franklin's first of the season...

QB Mark Bodamer completed 65 of 147 yards for 672 yards and a touchdown with 10 INTs...He was 13-for-26 for 147 yards against NWC champion Reynolds, but the Oilers netted minus 10 yards rushing in that game...Moe Berry led the Oilers in scoring with 3 TDs. He caught the only touchdown pass from Bodamer and scored on a 55-yard run against Grove City...Tyler Jones led the Oilers with two interceptions...
