The Oilers closed the season by playing two District 10 Class AA
qualifiers...Jeremy Amendola's 26-yard run with 3:26 left gave te Oilers their win over Lakeview...Jarrod DePriest (pictured at right) in Game 8 became the first Oiler to rush for 100 yards on the season; he gained 105 yards on 11 carries...
QB Tiger LaVerde (pictured at left) was the Oilers' leading rusher with 326 yards on 85 carries and 4 TDs. He also completed 47 of 99 passes for 645 yards and 6 touchdowns with 5 Interceptions. That gave him 971 yards total offense, including 157 against Kennedy, 161 against Warren and 161 against Hickory...
Brown was the top receiver with 32 catches for 413 yards and a team-leading five TDs...DePriest averaged 20.4 yards on 7 catches...
The Oilers' had a balanced ground game behind LaVerde, DePriest (45-242), sophomores Jeremy Amendola (61-228) and Mike Stephens (52-209) and senior Jeff McDowell (56-186)...
The Franklin game (at Oil City) was interrupted for about an hour by a rainstorm...
