Josh "Bronco" Cherish rumbled for 150 yards on 15 carries and scores two touchdowns in the season opener

against East...The sluggish Oilers didn't get on the board until 10:55 in the first half when Mason Marsh returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown...The Oilers built a 31-0 leadmidway through the third quarter...Marsh also blocked a punt that Charles Zimoski recovered in the end zone for a touchdown...

Brian Hahn scored three touchdowns, and became the first Oil City player to return two kickoffs for touchdowns...His second runback with 3:30 left put the Oilers ahead for good...Hahn racked up 298 all-purpose yards...Adam Brozeski's INT with under a minute to play sealed the victory...Kevin McIntyre scored on a 42-yard INT return...

The Strong Vincent game was played in a driving

rainstorm...The Colonels twice scored on long passes...The Oilers were within 7-6 late in the first half on a 9-yard pass from Tanner Hall to Hahn, but Vincent's second scoring pass with 32 seconds left made it 14-6 at intermission...It stayed that way until the Colonels scored their third TD with seven seconds left on a short run to climax a long drive...Vincent would reach the western Pennsylvania finals before losing to eventual state champion Thomas Jefferson...

Hahn scored three more touchdowns against Central, and had a 102-yard interception return called back by a penalty...Hahn's TDs came on an interception return and passes from Hall and Nick Stallone...All of the Oilers' scoring came in the first quarter and a half...Cherish, who booted a 62-yard punt during the game, was injured and would not see another play on offense for the rest of the season...

The Corry game featured anther three-TD performance by Hahn, whose third kickoff return for a touchdown broke school singe-season and career records...

Stallone became the first Oil City player to run for a touchdown, throw a TD pass and catch a touchdown pass in one game...His 30-yard TD reception came with 5 seconds left in the game...The game didn't start until 9:45 p.m. due to a mix-up in the scheduling of officials, and didn't end until 12:45 a.m....The Oilers led 14-0 and 20-12 before General McLane switched quarterbacks and got its option game in gear...Dan Skelton scored on runs of 65, 69 and 56 yards for the Lancers...His third TD gave McLane a 33-20 lead with 6:02 left...Just before that, the Oilers were at the GML 1 when Stallone's plunge was ruled short of the goal on a controversial call...Soph Drew Reinsel averaged 40 yards on three punts...

The Oilers twice wasted six-point leads against Franklin...The difference was a rarely called rushing the kicker that gave the Knights a second chance after the

missed the kick after their second TD with 10:28 to play...Jason McClintock scored both TDs for the Oilers...Titusville knocked the Oilers out of playoff contention...Trailing 14-0 at the half the Oilers rallied for a 15-14 lead -- their first against the Rockets since 1999 -- but they would lose for the fifth straight time to Titusville...Hall threw a 39-yard scoring pass to Hahn, his school record-tying eight TD catch of the season...Dante Jones' 66-yard run set up a 2-yard TD by Hall, and McClintock's kick made it 15-14...McIntyre had 20 tackles for the Oilers...

Playing at Meadville's refurbished Bender Field for the first time, McIntyre scored two TDs as the Oilers posted their 10th winning season in 11 years...Hahn scored on an 82-yard kickoff return, his school-record fifth return TD of the season...
