Due to District 10's realignment and the creation of regions, which replaced the previously existing conferences and leagues, the district's football playoffs also will undergo change.
The champion of each region will automatically qualify for the four-team playoff bracket while the other teams will be selected for at-large berths.
For example, in Class A, the champions of Region 1 and Region 2 will most likely be the top two seeded teams with the District 10 committee completing the bracket by selecting two additional teams. The committee will look at the performance of the non-qualifiers and could select the additional two teams from the same region.
There are two regions in both Class A and Class AA while the top four teams will qualify for the playoffs in Class AAA, which consists only of Region 5 (including Oil City).
The D-10 playoffs in Class AAAA will consist of the three D-10 teams and DuBois of District 9, should it elect to participate.
Here's a look at D-10's realigned football conferences, now known as regions:
Region 1 (Class A) - Cochranton, Lakeview, Conneaut Lake, Linesville, Kennedy Catholic, West Middlesex, Sharpsville.
Region 2 (Class A) - Cambridge Springs, Conneaut Valley, Eisenhower, Fairview, Iroquois, Saegertown, Union City, Youngsville.
