Adam Lehnortt was named to the Big East academic all-star list.
The sophomore linebacker, a business management major, was one of 11 West Virginia players named to the team. The Mountaineers have placed the most players on the team for nine straight years.
WVU has had 91 all-academic selections in 12 seasons of Big East play, the most of any school in the conference.
Athletes must have a 3.0 grade-point average to be eligible.

Lehnortt's dad, Larry, a 1975 OCHS graduate, died in a motorcycle accident Sunday, April 20.
WVU coach Rich Rodriguez started practice early Tuesday, April 22, so players and staff could attend the funeral and memorial service, according to the school's Web site, msnsportsnet.com.

Rodriguez must replace 14 starters from last year's 9-4 team, according to msnsportsnet.com, and Lehnortt and defensive lineman Ben Lynch are in the running for starting positions.
Lehnortt saw substantial action last season, and is expected to replace the graduated Ben Collins as the starter at middle linebacker.
Sophomore Ernest Hunter, who missed seven games last season with a broken leg, leads the defensive linemen. Lynch and senior Fred Bluefield are the most experienced of the other returnees.
Lehnortt and Lynch were on the Blue roster for the Blue-Gold scrimmage April 26. The Blue won, 27-13, limiting the Gold to 232 yards total offense.
